eCampIsrael: The Future Optimized

New summer camp allows participants to share in Israeli innovation and ingenuity. Co-CEO: “Israel is the center of innovation – let’s share Israeli ingenuity with children from around the world.”

In a globalizing world, where English is attainable, the labor market liquid and where jobs are exported, children need a good start. With that in mind, eCampIsrael’s Co-CEO Nir Kouris and his team have developed a camp experience introducing 10-18 year olds to top achievers and innovators from the Israeli high-tech sphere. The camp is to be held for the first time this summer in Aloney Yitzchak, a specialized village and nature reserve close to Caesarea. It is designed for kids from all around the world, not excluding Israelis, with excursions in place to leading research centers at Intel, Microsoft, Google, Motorola and the Israeli Air Force’s flight simulator. Campers engage in interactive projects at the cutting edge of technology, thus ensuring a worthwhile endeavour for kids and parents alike.

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL - A new technology summer camp in Israel will be opening their doors this summer. eCamp Israel, the first international technology summer camp in Israel, was designed to bring enterprising young people from around the world together for a unique interactive experience.

Israel has the second largest number of start ups in the world, second only to Silicon Valley, despite having a fraction of the population. “Only in Israel can we bring campers to the brains of the high tech world. Participants in eCamp Israel will meet with the world’s top innovators,” said Nir Kouris, co-CEO and an Israeli entrepreneur himself.

“By meeting with entrepreneurs like the founder of ICQ, now the brains behind the AOL Instant Messenger software, campers will see the magic of Israeli innovation and learn how to realize their own dreams. As Theodore Herzl said ‘If you will it, it is no dream.’ We give campers the tools to realize their dreams.” In addition to exciting labs and workshops, using the latest technologies, campers will also visit leading research centers such as Intel, Microsoft, Google, Motorola, and train in the Israeli Air Force’s flight simulator.

At eCamp Israel it’s not rhetoric, but reality. In addition to meeting Israel’s high tech leaders, campers engage in interactive projects at the cutting edge of technology. Utilizing the latest technology, campers will design and invent cutting-edge projects today. Campers will be using the same high top-class software and hardware that Israeli high tech innovators use to change the world.

“Workshops are not school lessons,” said Kouris. “Kids work on their own projects in a collaborative environment – a true open space lab.” Campers will be able to choose from a diverse array of workshops which include lessons in graphic animations, flash programming, Web 2.0 video creation, web design, robotics, computer programming, or even the opportunity to program their own computer game.

While participants will be able to experiment and explore, they also learn how to utilize innovation to make the world a better place. “Through technology Tikkun Olam, campers will help solve global problems that are challenging our world,” explained co-CEO Dotan Tamir.

In today’s flat world, Israeli innovation is changing people’s lives around the world. From drip irrigation to purifying drinking water to the technology behind Intel chips and Microsoft operation systems, Israel is affecting the way billions of people live – without knowing it. “Israel is the center of innovation,” said Kouris. “Our brain is our best natural resource. Let’s share Israeli ingenuity with children from around the world.”

eCamp Israel has teamed up with Oranim Educational Initiatives, Israel’s leading educational travel company, to provide a safe and satisfying experience. Campers will be housed at the eCamp Village, a picturesque nature reserve at the residential village in Aloney Yitzchak.

“Campers from around the world will experience the ‘Silicon Wadi’ in a comfortable, secure, and enriching environment. Participants will experience the summer of a lifetime through the gift of eCamp Israel, where they can learn from the world’s best and design their future,” said Tamir.
